OptimoGov North America

Customer stories

Twenty-two years of local government deployments, and none of them yet in North America.

We would rather open with that than bury it. OptimoGov has served local governments across Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Ireland since 2004. North America is a new market for us, delivered with our regional partner Invorg and MuniLogic. Here is what our customers actually did, described without the booking volumes and facility counts we have chosen not to publish.

We offer reference calls with comparable agencies overseas, first-cohort commercial terms, and a contract that puts implementation risk on us.

The stories

Six councils, six different portfolios.

Each one is described qualitatively. Where a figure would be the most persuasive part of the story, we have left it out, because publishing customer booking volumes and facility counts is not something we do.

Victoria

Cardinia Shire Council: From a lengthy manual process to same-day booking confirmations

Five business areas consolidated onto one platform, with resident self-service rising month on month after go-live and staff hours redirected off booking administration.

Victoria

Mildura Rural City Council: Centralized management of community facilities and a regional sporting precinct

Facilities across the municipality and its sports precinct managed from a single platform, with most precinct bookings confirmed instantly, in continuous operation since 2021.

Queensland

Toowoomba Regional Council: Modernized facility booking and public access in a phased rollout

Community facilities live first, integrated with the finance system, receipting and single sign-on, with further business areas following in later phases.

Victoria

Wyndham City Council: One platform replacing online forms, paper forms and basic diaries across separate business units

Community learning centers and multipurpose halls went live in the first phase, with the Oracle ERP finance system connected so rental revenue reconciles without re-keying.

New South Wales

AlburyCity Council: A mixed portfolio, from botanic gardens to meeting rooms, on one booking platform

Sporting grounds, parks, botanic gardens, community centers and meeting rooms brought onto one platform for casual users, regular renters and community groups.

Rural City of Wangaratta: Four business areas, including a council aerodrome, on one platform

Community and recreation, open space, sporting grounds and aviation replaced a patchwork of spreadsheets, paper forms, email threads and disconnected diaries.

On reading these honestly

What transfers across a border, and what does not.

Procurement, regulation and the vocabulary are different in North America. We are not going to claim otherwise. What transfers is the operational pattern, and that is what these stories are for.

  • What transfers. Several departments booking space, a fee schedule that must be applied consistently, compliance conditions on every booking, and a resident population that will use self-service when it works.
  • What does not. The procurement route, the regulatory framework, the payment rails and the terminology. ADA Title II, cooperative purchasing and resident and non-resident rate classes are all specific to this market.
  • What we do about the gap. Reference calls with comparable agencies overseas, first-cohort commercial terms, on-site delivery through a North American partner, and a contract that puts implementation risk on us.

Ask for the reference call before you shortlist.

We will arrange a conversation with an agency that runs the business areas you are evaluating, and we will not sit on the call.
