OptimoGov North America

Compared

What we publish that others in this category do not.

We looked at how the leading recreation and booking platforms in this market present themselves to a municipal buyer. The pattern is consistent. Here is where we chose to be different, and you can hold us to every line on this page.

This is a comparison of what is published, not a feature comparison. Feature claims should be tested on a demo, not read on a vendor's own website.

The comparison

Ten things a municipal buyer needs and mostly cannot find.

Use this as a checklist against every vendor on your shortlist, including us. The value is not in our column, it is in asking all of them the same question.

What is published, by us and typically in this category
ItemOptimoGovTypical in this category
Pricing model and contract termsPublished on this site. Written quote in five business days.A custom-pricing form. Terms surface at contract.
Annual escalatorNone built in. Renewal at the same rate unless your scope changes.Frequently an automatic annual increase.
Security certificationsA ledger of what is held and what is not, including GovRAMP.Frequently unnamed. In one case the security page returns an error.
Accessibility conformanceA conformance report for the resident portal, on request.Rarely published for the pages residents actually use.
ADA Title II datesStated correctly: April 26, 2027 and April 26, 2028 after the April 2026 extension.Several still publish the superseded 2026 date.
IntegrationsNamed, system by system, with production and scoped stated separately. The phrase "open API".
Implementation durationFour to eight weeks, stated, with the stages and a fixed fee.Contact sales.
Business areas includedAll twelve, in the subscription. Add one later at no license fee.Modular pricing, priced per module.
Booking volumeNot metered. Growth does not increase your subscription.Frequently metered by transaction or booking.
North American reference baseNew to the market, delivered with an established regional partner, and we say so in the first question of our FAQ.Implied, and hard to verify.

Assessed from vendors' own public websites in September 2026. Vendors change their sites. If something here is out of date, tell us and we will correct it, because a comparison page that goes stale is worse than none.

The switcher question

If you are already unhappy with an incumbent.

Most agencies that call us are not buying their first system. They are replacing one, usually because the fee schedule cannot be configured the way council adopted it, because the library and the clerk were never included, or because an accessibility conformance report was requested and never produced.

  • Ask for the conformance report. Not a statement, not a VPAT summary of a different product. The accessibility conformance report for the pages residents actually use. This is the request that most often goes unanswered.
  • Ask what renewal looks like in year four. Not year one. A lower first-year price with an automatic escalator and metered booking volume is not cheaper, it is deferred.
  • Ask which integrations are in production today. As opposed to possible through an open API. Both are legitimate answers. Only one of them is a commitment.
  • Ask what they do not hold. Every vendor has gaps. The useful signal is whether they will name them before contract.
  • Then ask us the same four. Our answers are on this site rather than in a sales conversation, which is the entire point.
