What a membership actually has to do

It is an entitlement, not a product line.

A membership is only worth selling if the rest of the platform knows about it. That is the difference between a pass and a discount code.

  1. 01

    Entitlements that apply themselves

A membership that includes free lane swim, a discount on program registration and priority booking on a court applies all three without the front desk remembering.

  2. 02

    Household structure

One household account with dependants, so a family membership covers the right people and a parent registers a child without a second login.

  3. 03

    Punch and multi-visit passes

Balances tracked, decremented at check-in, with expiry and transfer rules you set.

  4. 04

    Renewals and lapses

Renewal schedules, reminders, grace periods and what happens to entitlements the day a membership lapses.

What it handles at the desk and in the ledger

The operational half.

Proven in deployment

Cardinia Shire Council

Consolidating five business areas onto one platform meant a resident's facility rental, program registration and membership sat on a single record rather than in separate systems, with self-service rising month on month after go-live.

  • Point of sale and check-in. Counter sales, card readers, day admission and membership check-in on the same customer record as everything else, reconciled to the same ledger.
  • Resident and concession tiers. Resident, non-resident, senior, youth, student and assistance tiers with the boundary test applied automatically.
  • Suspensions and pro rata. Medical or seasonal suspensions, pro rata adjustments and credits, with the reason recorded and the revenue effect visible.
  • Deferred revenue. An annual membership sold in January is not January's revenue. The platform reports it the way your finance team needs to recognize it.
  • Fee assistance. The same eligibility route as program registration, applied to membership pricing, without publishing who received it.

Questions

Asked on most calls.

If your panel needs an answer that is not here, send the question and we will publish it.

Is membership a separate module we pay extra for?

No. Every business area is included in the subscription. You can start with facility bookings and turn memberships on later at no additional license fee.

Can a membership give priority booking?

Yes, where your policy allows it. A membership can open a booking window earlier, or grant a rate class, or both.

Do we need our own card readers?

Card readers and kiosks are optional hardware, quoted separately if you want them. The platform itself does not require them.
