OptimoGov North America

Platform · Bulk item and waste collection

Bulk item collection, booked by the resident and routed to the crew.

Most cities still take bulk pickup requests by phone and plan the route on a spreadsheet. OptimoGov gives residents a booking portal for their address and gives public works the schedule, the route, the crew assignment and a driver app, on the same platform your recreation team already uses.

For public works, solid waste and any municipality running a scheduled or on-request collection.

Why this belongs on the same platform

The department is different. The problem is identical.

A bulk pickup is a booking against a constrained resource with a policy attached. It is the same engine that allocates a field, pointed at a street and a truck. That is why we can offer it and a recreation vendor cannot.

  1. 01

    Booking against the address

The resident's address determines the route, the eligible dates and whether they are entitled to a collection at all this cycle, so the portal offers only what is actually available.

  2. 02

    Item types and conditions

What can be collected, how much, what is excluded, what needs special handling, and the preparation instructions that go out with the confirmation.

  3. 03

    Route and capacity planning

Collection cycles per route with a capacity per run, so a route fills and then closes rather than being over-committed and worked as overtime.

  4. 04

    Crew, vehicle and driver app

Runs assigned to a crew and a vehicle, worked in the field on a driver app, with completions, exceptions and access problems recorded where they happen.

Proven in deployment

A note on where this is proven

Bulk waste collection is in production with local government customers in our other markets. It is new to North America, like the rest of our footprint here, and we would rather say that than imply a domestic reference base we do not yet have. We will demonstrate it live against your own routes and item policy.

  • Calls stop coming to the counter. Booking, rescheduling and status checking move to self-service, which is the same effect consolidating facility bookings has on a recreation front desk.
  • Missed collections have a record. A missed or refused collection is logged with the reason, and the resident can reschedule inside your policy rather than calling to complain into a void.
  • Fees where you charge them. Where a collection carries a fee by size or item type, it is paid at booking through the same payment arrangement as the rest of the platform.
  • Demand you can see. Bookings mapped against your GIS layer, so demand by area, seasonal peaks and the cost of serving a route stop being anecdotal.
  • One resident account. The household booking a bulk pickup is the same household that books a pavilion and registers a child for camp. One record, one login, one city.

Questions

Asked on most calls.

If your panel needs an answer that is not here, send the question and we will publish it.

Is this really the same platform as facility bookings?

Yes. Same customer record, same payment arrangement, same reporting layer, same subscription. It is a business area you turn on, not a second product to procure.

Does it integrate with our fleet or route optimization system?

It plans and assigns collection runs itself, and it exposes an open REST API where you already run a fleet or routing system you want to keep. Tell us which one on the demo.

Can residents book without an account?

Your choice. Address verification is the control that matters here, and you can allow a guest booking against a verified address or require the household account.
