Introducing OptimoGov for North America

Twelve business areas, twenty-two years of local government deployments, no North American customers yet, and a deliberate decision to say all three out loud.

OptimoGov has been building facility, event and resource management for local government since 2004. We are in production with councils across Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and Ireland. As of this year we are entering the United States and Canada, delivered with our regional partner Invorg and MuniLogic from offices in Philadelphia and London, Ontario.

This post is the honest version of what that means.

What we bring

Twelve business areas, not one

Almost every vendor in this market sells parks and recreation. A city also owns a library, a city hall, a theater, sometimes a marina, a fleet of meeting rooms and a solid waste operation. Our platform covers community centers, athletic fields and sports allocation, parks and pavilions, library rooms, council chambers, internal staff bookings, program registration, memberships, ticketing, bulk item collection and watercraft. All of them are included in the subscription, and adding one later carries no additional license fee.

Two business areas nobody else here offers

Bulk item and waste collection booking, and watercraft dock and storage allocation. Both are in production with local government customers in our other markets. The first is the interesting one commercially, because it moves the conversation from Parks and Recreation to Public Works, and because a bulk pickup is structurally the same problem as a field allocation: a booking against a constrained resource with a policy attached.

A compliance engine rather than a calendar

Taking a reservation is easy. Enforcing a fee schedule with effective dates, a residency test against a jurisdiction boundary, an insurance requirement per facility class, a deposit policy and an approval delegation on every single request is what consumes staff time. That is the part we automate.

What we do not bring

This is the part we would rather you read here than discover later.

  • No North American municipal customers yet. Not one. It is the first answer in our homepage FAQ.
  • No GovRAMP authorization, in any status. Where your state requires it or an equivalent such as TX-RAMP, tell us during the RFP.
  • No cooperative purchasing contract. No Sourcewell, OMNIA Partners, NASPO ValuePoint, BuyBoard or TIPS.
  • Bulk waste and watercraft have no North American reference, like the rest of our footprint here.

What we offer instead of a domestic reference base: reference calls with comparable agencies overseas, first-cohort commercial terms, on-site implementation through a partner who is actually here, and a contract that puts implementation risk on us through a fixed implementation fee.

What we are doing differently on purpose

  1. Publishing pricing. Population-based subscription, every business area included, unlimited staff and resident accounts, booking volume not metered, no annual escalator. Written quote in five business days.
  2. Publishing a certification ledger with the gaps in it. ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II, SOC 1 Type I and PCI DSS alongside a plain statement of what we do not hold.
  3. Stating the ADA Title II dates correctly. April 26, 2027 and April 26, 2028 after the Department of Justice extension published in April 2026. Several vendors in this category still show the superseded date.
  4. Naming integrations system by system, and separating what is in production from what would be scoped for your instance.
  5. Stating implementation duration. Four to eight weeks, timeboxed, with the four stages and a fixed fee quoted before you sign.

What happens on a demo

Forty-five minutes, no slides. Bring the list of every space your agency rents out, your adopted fee schedule, and your three hardest cases. We configure them live. You leave with a recording, a written answer to anything we could not settle on the call, and a quote within five business days if you want one.

If we are not the right fit for your portfolio or your procurement route, we would rather tell you on that call than nine months later.

See it against your own facilities.

Forty-five minutes, your fee schedule, your approval rules, your three hardest cases. No slides.
